On April 29th at 10:01am we’ll gather together to joyfully sing, pray and marvel at God’s power and goodness.[Scroll down for a video from the pastor.]
The nursery will be open, and we’ll have the popular Sunday Buddies program in the Sunday School — a time where, once a month, the children and youth of different ages work and learn together on an important biblical theme.
In the service, our pastor will start a 2-part mini-series called “Common Bond: The collapse of community in a consumer world, and the call of community in Christ’s.” Have you ever noticed how connecting with others is getting more difficult, and how communities are less close-knit, how fewer people know their neighbours, and how more people are lonely even though they’re surrounded by thousands of people? Yup, it’s a huge cultural shift… and problem. So on Sunday we’ll explore why that is, and also the kind of community Christ calls us to be as his followers. Not only is it necessary, but it’s a source of great hope!
After the service there will also be a short congregational gathering. Every 5 years the Presbytery of Barrie (Westminster’s overseeing body) sends a special team to inquire about the well-being and life of the congregation. This time will be led by the Visitation Team (chaired the Rev. Dr. Karen Horst) and will be an opportunity to respond to questions and ask them.
No matter who you are, you’ll feel welcome and uplifted.
Let’s honour God together! You’ll be glad you did.
