On Sunday, November 26th we gather at 10:01am to praise God, pray, learn and encourage one another.
The nursery will be in operation; and the Sunday School will be in full swing as well.
During the service, our pastor will start a new 2-part mini-series called “A Servant Christmas – How the birth of a Servant Saviour can make your Christmas more meaningful.” Here’s an explanation:
Christmas is special. But even though there are songs of joy playing in the malls and on the radio, something seems broken about Christmas.
Yup, we said it. Broken.
It seems too busy… and expensive… and complicated. Add into the mix difficult family dynamics and never-attainable expectations and what we’re often left with is a feeling that Christmas falls flat.
So what do we do about it?
On November 26 and December 3 at Westminster in Barrie, we’re talking about how to make Christmas meaningful again. What we’re going to do is look closely at what the Bible says about Jesus’ birth and what it means. Then we’re going to ask how the birth of a Servant Saviour impacts how we celebrate Christmas and how it can make it more meaningful in very real and practical ways.
Let’s rescue Christmas from consumerism (and a bunch of other stuff), and do our best to serve a Servant Saviour. It will inject a yuletide dose of meaning into what we do in December.
Join in! It’ll be a great day to praise God at Westminster.
