On Thanksgiving Sunday, October 11th we gather online at 10:01am.
There’s a lot happening: We will celebrate Communion (bring your juice and bread), be blessed by your thankful video and picture submissions, and enjoy a new Praise Challenge entry. We will prioritize and honour God through song, prayer and his word, including Part 4 in the Down-to-Earth series. You can find sermon notes for this week’s message here.
Communion is when Christians take bread and juice (or wine) to remember and give thanks for Jesus’ loving sacrifice for our sin, giving his life for ours. Parents are encouraged, as always, to discuss the meaning of the Sacrament before it happens. [a helpful document prepared by Pastor Ruttan can be found here titled “Children and Communion”] No matter what is happening in the world, we exalt King Jesus, and call on his help and hope.
We will also receive a special financial appeal for the Deacon’s Fund, a fund which helps people who are struggling financially, either inside or outside the congregation. Donations can be made via e-transfer, mail-in cheque, or through the app by selecting ‘Deacon’s Fund’ in the list of options.
