A steward of a house is a caretaker -- someone who faithfully manages it's resources.
One of the ways we exercise wise stewardship in the church is with our financial resources.
Westminster is 100% self-sustaining, meaning that we generate funds to operate (to pay for programs, staff, the building and outreaches) from within. About 90% of our funds come from donations from the congregation, and about 10% comes from building rentals.
Decisions around finances and their management are made by the church elders (Session) who gather monthly to prayerfully oversee the work of the congregation. (See the 'Session' page in 'Ministries' to learn more.)
