It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Winnie Eakin, long-time member and friend at Westminster. Winnie recently suffered from a number of health issues. She was in her 100th year and passed away early in the morning of the 6th at Barrie Manor.
A strong woman of faith with a charming sense of humour, Winnie’s smile was infectious. She was a mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had been actively involved in many groups and projects at the church through the years, along with her husband Hugh (who passed away in 2004).
We will hold a funeral service at the church this Sunday, December 10th at 3pm. (Visitation from 2-3pm.) A reception will follow. Winnie’s full obituary is here.
Through the sadness we rejoice that Winnie is no longer in pain and is in joyful peace in the very presence of God. “Thanks be to God who gives us the victory of our Lord Jesus Christ!” (1 Cor 5:57)
