Sunday Service – April 15

Westminster 170 Steel Street, Barrie

On April 15th at 10:01am we’ll gather together to joyfully sing, pray and marvel at God’s power and goodness. It's an "Inter-generational Service," which means that it's an "all in" experience (no Sunday School), and the service is shortened at 45 minutes in length. There will be lots of singing and some creative forms of worship, including the biblical story in the form of a puppet show. No matter who you are, you'll feel welcome and uplifted. After the service we'll also have a Ministry Fair in our Fellowship Hall. This is an opportunity to learn more about what goes on at Westminster, and also to find out about how to plug in. Let's honour God together! You’ll be glad you did.

Congregational Survey

Westminster 170 Steel Street, Barrie

Every adult or young adult who considers Westminster their church home is invited to complete this survey. It will take about 10 minutes to fill out. A summary of the survey results will be made available to the congregation. We are asking that you complete this survey by April 29. If possible please complete it online here through the link provided on this page. For those who don’t have access to the internet, please return in person to the church office which is open from Wednesday to Friday, from 9am to noon. On Sunday mornings you can return it to the Welcome Desk in the front foyer. New Members Gathering

Westminster 170 Steel Street, Barrie

If you are interested in learning more about what ‘professing membership’ at Westminster means you are invited to a New Members Gathering at Westminster on Sunday, June 10th from 1 to 3:30pm in the church library. In short, membership at Westminster means: Standing up in worship and confirming (a) your faith in Jesus Christ and, (b) your loyalty to the Christian faith as expressed in the Apostles' Creed. That you want to grow as a follower of Jesus. That 'You can count on me' as a part of this church. There is a full handout with the most frequently asked questions about membership that you can pick up at the Welcome Desk at the church, or that you can download here: The Meaning of Membership-2018 06-text Perhaps you are new to Westminster and want to profess and renew your Christian faith, or perhaps you are coming from another congregation and want to make Westminster your church home. Or maybe you just want to learn more in a relaxed, friendly environment. Either way, you are welcome. The afternoon will be led by Pastor Ruttan. If you are interested or would like to come, please register your attendance with the pastor. You can email him or fill in the contact form below.

Christmas Cantata!

Westminster 170 Steel Street, Barrie

Please join us on Sunday, December 23 at 10:01 am for the fourth Sunday of Advent as we worship the living God! The main part of our service will be the annual Christmas Cantata! Our expanded 28 voice choir of adults and youth presents "The Angels Are Singing", a tapestry of beautiful songs that will remind us of why the angels sang on that first Christmas night and why we still sing about Jesus today! Featuring modern Christmas songs by Chris Tomlin and Francesca Battistelli, along with familiar carols, this cantata will be sure to start your Christmas week off on a special note. Please note that our bright, welcoming nursery will be in operation, as will our full Sunday School program (preschool to high school). It is also White Gift Sunday. This is an opportunity to bring in food items for the annual Barrie Food Bank Drive. The name comes from a tradition of wrapping the gifts/donations in white -- but it's not required. This is a very real and tangible way we can help others at this special time of year. Let's honour God and be a part of something bigger together!
