On Sunday, January 9 we worship the living Lord at 10:01am. "The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it" (John 1:5). That's our memory verse for this month and we seek to receive and experience that truth. The service will be available on YouTube only at 10:01am. Pastor Ruttan will begin a new teaching series on John's Gospel, we will sing and pray, and Laura Ruttan will share our next faith-at-home focus. Find us on our YouTube page here Sunday at 10:01 a.m.
Jesus came "full of grace and truth" (John 1:14). Not grace and no truth, and not truth and no grace -- but both. If we want to be "like Jesus" are we growing in both grace and truth, or do we tend to favour one over the other? This is some of what we explore as worship the living God on Sunday, January 16th (via YouTube) at 10:01am EST. We will praise God with song, go to him in prayer, learn a new faith-at-home Bible focus, and receive the encouragement and hope we all need at a time like this! You can find our services Sunday mornings at 10:01 a.m. on our YouTube Page here.
John the Baptist said that Jesus would baptize with the Holy Spirit. As we continue through John's Gospel, Pastor Ruttan will help us reflect on how the Holy Spirit might be working through us in this confusing and challenging time. We will get into God's word, we will sing hymns and praise songs, and we will pray, learn a new faith-at-home focus, and be REFRESHED in God! Please find our morning worship at 10:01 a.m. on our YouTube page here.
With love-filled eyes, a resolute heart, and open arms, Jesus says, "Follow me." If you feel under-prepared or too spiritually immature to follow Jesus, John 1:35-51 is for you. Pastor Ruttan will take us through the text this Sunday, and Jenn Harris will lead us in song. We will pray, be encouraged, learn a new faith-at-home family focus, and be centred in the one who renews, refreshes and helps us! Join us on our YouTube page here at 10:01 a.m.
As we resume to limited in-person worship for some congregants, we lift voices to God in song, prayer, and open our Bibles to John 2 as Jesus turns water into wine! This is one of Jesus’ most famous miracles, but it is meant to point us to a greater reality about God (which is good news for us). Pastor Ruttan will take us through John 2:1-12 and we’ll learn a new Bible memorization focus. The service will also be live on YouTube beginning at 10:01am EST.
Our friend and brother Keith Arnott has finished his battle on earth and is now with our great God! He passed away at his home on Saturday morning, surrounded by family. Keith had been fighting Leukemia and other health complications. He was 83. Keith and his wife Ruth have been a part of the Westminster family since the early 70's after they moved from Arthur. He was a warm-hearted man, deeply faithful, kind and wise, and contributed to the life of the church and wider community in a variety of ways. Here is a link to his full obituary. Because of pandemic restrictions, the church service will not be as it might normally be. To limit numbers it is a private, family event by invitation from the family. However there is a public visitation at Adams Funeral Home from 5-8pm on Thursday evening (Feb 10), and from 1-2pm on Friday afternoon (Feb 11) right before the service. The service itself will be live-streamed on our YouTube channel at 2pm. Please keep Ruth, and their four children and their families in your prayers for comfort and peace in this difficult time of loss. We praise God for the victory he gives us in Christ Jesus! (1 Corinthians 15:57) "There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away" (Revelation 21:4). -Matthew
On Sunday, February 13th, we praise God at 10:01am via YouTube and with a limited in-person group (pre-registration required). In this Sunday's text, we find Jesus upset. You don't see that very often. But it happens when people are irreverent and misusing his Father's house, the Jerusalem Temple. The word used to describe him is "zeal." What do we learn from this today about how God wants us to approach him, whether on Sunday or any other day? The text is John 2:13-25. We will also induct our three elders for their terms: Cathy Clark, Colin Leonard and Carolyn Trott. We will sing songs and hymns, pray together, and also learn about our emerging plan for in-person Sunday School with Laura Ruttan. Limited In-person seating (reservations required) and online LIVE stream Sundays at 10:01 a.m. Join us live on YouTube at 10:01 a.m.
On Sunday, February 20th, we praise God at 10:01am via YouTube and with a limited in-person group (pre-registration required). Denying the existence of God, cancel culture and redefining everything. Does anything make any sense anymore?! It does when you add it all up and 'Do the Math'. This Sunday we welcome guest speaker Jeff Walther as he helps us 'Do the Math' We will sing songs and hymns, pray, and worship the living God together. Join us live on YouTube at 10:01 a.m.
Jesus said that we cannot enter God's kingdom without being "born again." What did he mean, and how might our new status in Christ impact our attitudes toward government, the pandemic and ourselves? That's what Pastor Ruttan will explore in worship on Sunday as he leads in worship along with Jenn Harris. Henna Kim will lead us in prayer, and Laura Ruttan will introduce another faith-at-home service activity. Join us live on YouTube at 10:01 a.m.
