SUNDAY SERVICE – JUNE 23rd

Westminster 170 Steel Street, Barrie, Ontario, Canada

(Here is our location via Google Maps.) This Sunday we'll gather together as God's people to worship, sing, pray, learn and encourage one another in Christ. We will have our full Sunday School (preschool to high school) and nursery care. We've been working through a teaching series called "Help When It Hurts" because, let's face it, life can hurt... worries, broken relationships, illness, financial hardship, a pain from your past that never seems to go away. You know it's true. Biblical teachings don’t assume that life will be a cakewalk. In fact, they presume that life will be difficult. None of us are offered a free pass; but we are promised God’s presence and help through the pain. So if you have hurt, are hurting, or could hurt at some point in the future, then this is for you. So far we've looked at some of the psalms and the importance of walking with God, walking with God's people, and of having a godly purpose in your life to offset the pain in your life. On June 23 we'll have Part 3 and explore how our hurts can actually re-create us. The question each of us needs to answer is--for better, or for worse? We will also induct/ordain three new elders into our leadership at Westminster.  And present our High School grads with care packages as they move into the next chapter of their lives. Hope to see you there!

SUNDAY SERVICE – JULY 14th

Westminster 170 Steel Street, Barrie, Ontario, Canada

On Sunday, July 14th we will joyfully gather together to worship our incredible God! Our service will be very music focused. It will have the feel of a “hymn sing” where we sing hymns and praise songs that have had a particular influence over the years. There will be no sermon, but Pastor Ruttan will share some of the background to these musical pieces as well as scriptural insights into what makes them great from a gospel perspective. During the kids’ time we will also have a review of our recent Vacation Bible Camp! There will be nursery and Sunday School (from preschool to high school). Let’s honour God together.

SUNDAY SERVICE – JULY 21st

You’re invited to join us on Sunday, July 21st at 10:01 am as we worship God as his people together. Do you ever wonder about the Holy Spirit? Is the Holy Spirit an "it" or a "who"? What does the Holy Spirit do? If Christians are supposed to "have" the Holy Spirit, does he take shape the same way in everyone? What if you're not sure? Can you feel the Spirit? These are the kinds of questions Pastor Ruttan will explore on Sunday, July 21st and Sunday, July 28th. Bring your Bible! We will also sing together, pray together, learn together, and build one another up in faith on this beautiful summer Sunday. There will be nursery care, and there will be Sunday School from preschool to high school. And after the service, we'll have ice cream! Also, following the service, our Stitch and Chatter group will continue on with their Book Sale in Fellowship Hall. Let's worship and learn about the Holy Spirit together.  See you there!

SUNDAY SERVICE – JULY 28TH

Westminster 170 Steel Street, Barrie, Ontario, Canada

This Sunday, July 28th, we will join together at 10:01 to worship our incredible God! Last week we explored insights about the Holy Spirit that apply to Christians generally. This week we'll explore insights about the Spirit which apply to Christians specifically. In other words, God has made each of us to be an original, and he has given each of us unique personalities and strengths which he uses to help us honour Jesus, talk about Jesus, and do the loving work of Jesus in our lives and world. We'll talk about the "fruit of the Spirit" (Galatians 5:13-26) and spiritual gifts (1 Corinthians 11:1-11, 27-31, 1 Corinthians 13:1-8a). All Christians have the Holy Spirit living within them, and when we understand ourselves, the fruit of the Spirit, and spiritual gifts, we start to see more clearly how God wants to use us in the world. Let's worship and learn more about the Holy Spirit together.  Hope to see you there.

SUNDAY SERVICE – AUGUST 4TH

Westminster 170 Steel Street, Barrie, Ontario, Canada

This Sunday, August 4th, we will join together at 10:01 to worship our incredible God! You’re invited to join us as we worship God as his people together.  We will joyfully sing, pray and marvel at God’s power and goodness. Julie Cunha, our Youth Coordinator will lead the service and our own Jeff Walther will provide the message this week during Pastor Ruttan's vacation.  The title of the message is "The Theory of Relativity (sometimes things really are black and white)".  E=Mc2?  How does that relate to the bible?  Come and hear Jeff's message to hear how!  You will be glad you did. Let’s worship and be a part of something bigger together.  Hope to see you there!
