Faith Over Fear – Day Four

Day 4 – God is Bigger than our Fear

Mark 4: 35 – 41
Today we meet Jesus, God’s son, our Saviour. Jesus came to earth as an innocent baby to show us the best way to live here on earth and amazingly to save us from our own mistakes and brokenness by giving his life for us and rising again. But more about that tomorrow. Today through one of his incredible miracles we see Jesus take control of the wind and the rain. If Jesus can control these things think of all the amazing things he can do for you.

This is a virtual opportunity for you, your children, grandchildren or families to explore some resources available online for free to help you build a strong foundation in Christ and remember that GOD IS BIGGER.

Each day you will find a new story adapted from the Bible into video from different churches on YouTube.  And a video of some of our favourite camp songs led by one of our incredible volunteers Melissa Maeck – Rolston, including actions! You’ll then find a discussion option as well as some activities to enjoy God’s word in fun ways, in your time.  Lastly,  you will also find a VBS song from our past camps.  From July 6 -10th, each day a new slate of resources will be available!  Feel free to join us each day or use the resources throughout the summer and do one per week! Whatever fits best with your family and your schedule.

Our hope is that this is a time for you to explore, experiment and enjoy God’s work, and it’s just a click away!

(& p.s. – if you are a person who likes to have a paper copy guide of each day – you will find that at the bottom in a printable PDF)

TODAY’S MEMORY VERSE: –  “For I hold you by your right hand- I, the LORD your God. And I say to you, ‘Don’t be afriad. I am here to help you.” – Isaiah 41: 13

Things are hard, and sometimes we aren’t sure what to do, and that is scary. Today’s story reminds us that Jesus can calm the winds and rains, He can do anything.

Are you ever scared? Not sure about what to do? Try making a Jesus Jar. Create a jar with Jesus written on it, then write all the things you are scared about on scraps of paper and “Give it to God”, put it in your Jesus Jar, say a prayer and let God do the rest.

Today’s activity is to try and make your own storm!
What you’ll need: two bottles, water, glitter/food colour (optional), tornado tube connector or duct tape, plastic cup, scissors.
Follow this video on The Amaze Lab on YouTube.

1. Fill one bottle (add colour/glitter as desired)
2. Use cut out the bottom of the cup and put a hole in it, place between bottles
3. Attach the two bottles and swirl!

Thank you so much for joining us today! We would love for you to share with us your creations, activities, or ideas! Please share on our social media pages or tag us, #wpcbarrie.  Or feel free to email Julie at  See you tomorrow!
