Grace opens doors
People are hungry for grace. But grace is one of those things we can take for granted. So what is it, and what does it do to us and through us?
The woman caught in adultery is a famous story from John’s Gospel, as is this famous line: “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.”
But in this sermon on John 7:53-8:11, Pastor Ruttan explains why this text isn’t in the oldest and most reliable manuscripts of the Bible. He therefore uses it as an illustration which is supported by other inspired biblical passages.
He takes us through the text and shares an insights about how Jesus exemplifies both grace AND truth, and how grace opens doors.
If we believe that knowing, serving and enjoying God in Christ is the most important thing ever—and if knowing, serving and enjoying God in Christ is the best thing or every single person on the planet—we will want to think, speak and act in a way which opens doors, not close them.
