He focused on drawing from the story of the bronze snake in Numbers (21:4-9) and John 3:7-15 with the key verses being v14-15 “And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.”
