What do we really know about the historical Jesus, and how does that impact our faith?
Jesus is the centre of our faith. He came to give us life; but what was his like? What did he look like? What was it like growing up Nazareth? What was it like living under the oppressive rule of the Romans and even King Herod? Did he have a job before starting his ministry? Did he go to synagogue?
The more we know about his life then, the more we appreciate the impact of his life on us now.
This sermon explores historical, cultural and archaeological research to give us a behind-the-scenes look at Jesus of Nazareth. It also looks at the big picture by considering both his humanity and his divinity to explore the significance of the incarnation on our faith today.
It ends with a practical suggestion to help us appreciate what God has done for each of us in Yeshua of Nazareth, the son of Mary and the Son of God.
