Sunday Service – December 20th

Join us this Sunday at 10:01 for the 2020 choral cantata! This year's cantata has been put together virtually and features 16 voices (and faces!) from Westminster's Adult Choir. We will also be blessed by live narration from our own Steve Sainsbury. While this year's cantata certainly looks different than previous years and in fact doesn't even have a title, it features a few of our favourite and beautiful songs from past cantatas. We hope that this music will be a wonderful and worshipful start to your Christmas week! We will also continue with our December Community Outreach initiatives.  This Sunday is typically our Mitten Tree Sunday where we collect hats, mitts and scarves for the clients of The David Busby Centre.  We won't have a tree this year but Christine Wilkinson will collect donations in the parking lot between 12 & 2 pm for delivery to them.  Thanks for your support. Currently, our services are live-stream only.  You can find it here Sunday morning.

Christmas Eve Worship – Use-At-Home service

Your home Barrie, ON, Canada

READY TO MAKE YOUR PLANS FOR CHRISTMAS EVE?  We have two worship options available! Something new is a Use-At-Home service for those looking to try something different this year!  It has suggested readings, times to pray, and even includes different carol options (including words). You can download it here. You can view the other worship option, our live-streamed service here.

Christmas Eve Worship – Online Service

Live Stream Only Westminster YouTube Channel

One of our Christmas Eve options is an online service from 5:30 to 6:30pm here on our live-stream. It will include a family-friendly focus for the first half, and a more traditional feel (with candles) for the second half.  Although not our traditional Christmas Eve Services, this service will be a wonderful blend of the two in a shorter, online friendly format. It can also be viewed at any time throughout the evening on our YouTube Channel here. You can view our other Christmas Eve worship option, the Use-At-Home liturgy here.

Start the New Year off right by worshipping our incredible God! Join us at 10:01 am this Sunday for our first live-stream service of 2021. One of our favourite friends, Rev. Patrick Voo, will be leading our service along with Jenn Harris to kick off the new year. We have a special guest and also will enjoy a new & special Praise Challenge. Rev. Patrick will be tackling the famous question of "How do you eat an elephant?  One bite at a time" -- the bottom line being that we can reach the amazing destiny that God has called each of us to if we just do the little things that matter which is within our grasp! We hope you can join us!  You will find it here.

It's a tough time in our lives, isn't it? But on Sunday at 10:01am we worship online at the feet of our God who sustains and strengthens us! We sing, pray, hear a new faith-at-home focus, learn catechism question #2, and learn about two new initiatives you can contribute to. Pastor Ruttan will teach about Luke 2:31-44 and the reality of facing opposition in your faith. You can find sermon notes for this message here. Deep roots for a windy world. Let's worship the Lord! Coldest Night of the Year

For the past 5 years the youth groups at Westminster have encouraged the congregation to support, learn more and share about the Coldest Night of the Year Walk for Youth Haven. Youth Haven is the Shelter and Services that provide a safe living space, safe schooling and transitional support to youths ages 16 - 24 across Simcoe Muskoka. This year the walk is being held virtually so families can walk together on a night of their choosing though we recommend Saturday February 20th.  Although this is a virtual walk Julie Cunha would love to host a ZOOM kick off on Saturday February 20th at 4:00 p.m. for all who are planning to walk! If you are interested in joining the team please follow the link below and email Julie (julie@westminsterpc.ca) to be added to the ZOOM Kick Off! If you would like to join or donate to the WestminsterWalkers please follow this link, and don't forget to share photos of your family in their toques and on your walk!

FabFeb

In February 2021 we join Fight4Freedom and their FabFeb campaign, raising awareness and funds in the battle against human trafficking (modern slavery). Everyone is created in God's image. Our team is called ‘Westminster Church.’ You are invited to become a team member, or learn more, or donate (our goal is $500), or wear red boldly. Join the Westminster Church team here. We can participate by wearing red ribbons, bold lipstick or bowties and posting a bold-fabulous-you on social media to raise funds and awareness. Being bold gives us an opportunity to share about the very real problem of human trafficking and invite others to join us in advocating with Fight4Freedom to end trafficking together.
