On Sunday, December 15, 2024 at 10:01am we continue the journey of Advent. The service will begin with praise and prayer. We will light the Candle of Joy. As previously mentioned, we will pause our series on Mark until January to focus on Advent and Christmas. The pastor will preach on Matthew 1:1-25. There will be Sunday School, nursery care and fellowship time after the service.
Join in as we sing and celebrate the carols of Christmas. This will be a music-filled morning with 4 readers and 10 carols. There are so many inspiring carols and songs at this time of year; in fact, we can't always get to them all. On this Sunday we will! Be sure to tell friends and family. On this same Sunday we will hold a food drive for the local food bank on Sunday, December 22nd. The name ‘white gift’ comes from a custom of wrapping gifts in white (but now we ask that you not do so). This season the food bank is in great demand. We can help.
Christ is born! We will have 2 services on Christmas Eve: (1) The Super Family Friendly Christmas Eve This service is from 5:30-6:05pm. And when we say 'super family-friendly,' we mean it. It's a not-so-silent-night. It will be a fun, faithful (and short) evening that is kid-focused. We’ll have songs, learning, and even battery-operated tea lights. (2) The Traditional Candlelit service This begins at 7pm and goes to about 7:45. You will be handed a (real) candle when you come in. We will rejoice, learn and sing carols in the dark. At both services, if you are in a position to do so, you will be invited to put a financial offering in a box (or via etransfer). We will give 100% of this away to support the street outreach work of the Salvation Army Barrie. Plan on attending—and tell your friends and family!
