Afflicted. Alone. Despairing. Disappointed.
That’s what Heman felt. He was the author of Psalm 88, sometimes called the darkest of the psalms. Other psalms end on a upswing, but not this one.
Not only does he feel alone, but as if the only One who can help is also against him. Do you want to know what the #1 question is that people have for God? Why is there so much pain and suffering?
This sermon explores Psalm 88. If you’ve ever felt like God has let you down, maybe this honesty cry will resonate with you.
Who was Heman? What did he go through? And where can we look for light in the night?
