Pray Every Day – Faith-at-Home Focus (Oct 11, 2020)
by Westminster
Every week our faith-at-home idea follows a pattern.
-The first Sunday in each month is about Bible memorization.
-The second Sunday is about prayer.
-The third has a Bible focus.
-And the fourth is a service activity to love and help those around us.
The ideas are connected to the theme for each Sunday’s service.
They are meant to be both simple-yet-meaningful and adaptable.
We know it’s a tough time for people individually and as families. Some weeks are good… and some weeks are, well, not so good! Let’s lose the guilt about not ‘having it all together.’
At the same time, let’s be intentional about taking the lead in our homes as we seek to trust and follow Jesus together.
Week of Sunday, October 11th
Schedule: 2nd Sunday
Focus: Prayer
This week’s focus is brought to you by Mandy Hillyard! She’s one of our Sunday School Teachers, the leader of the Junior Choir, and is also a prayer warrior with the Monday Evening Prayer Team.
During the Sunday Service on October 11, 2020, she explained (via video) the importance of prayer. Here’s what you can do:
Pray every day.
Yup, pray every day. Talk to God. Listen for his promptings in your life. The video Mandy shared talked about some of the reasons why this is important. They’re huge!
If this is something you already do together as a family, then you are encouraged to try praying every day alone. This is something people can start to do as soon as they can talk.
Build up that personal and powerful conversation with God: Pray every day.
Simple. Meaningful. And life-changing.
