Deleting words from dictionaries and other love-impoverishing things

Someone once said that those who write dictionaries have a disproportionate influence on human history. A little while ago “sin” was deleted from the Oxford Junior Dictionary. What does that mean? And what does it mean when we downplay the significance of sin generally in our world and lives? It actually leaves us impoverished. And it deprives us of a greater understanding of love, gratitude and service to God and others.
