Freed to serve

“The truth will set you free.” So said Jesus. So powerful are these words that they continue to be posted above courthouses and libraries.
They connect with a deep-down human urge to be free, whether it be nations, oppressed peoples, or teens starting to find their way in the world.
We. Want. Freedom.
But notice how Jesus connects true freedom to truth. Why? And what are we freed for?
That’s what this sermon on John 8:31-38 explores. We look at the text line-by-line, the concepts of truth, relativity and discipleship, and then zero-in on two applications for our lives today.
